It’s hard to believe that the holiday season is just around the corner!  This time of year encourages spreading holiday cheer, the exchanging of gifts, and spending time with those we love.  Unfortunately, there are many families in the Cleveland area who don’t get to experience the holidays in the same way.

Ten years ago, Joe Little, President and Owner of Laketec and Marine Core Veteran, started an adopt a family program at the company.

It started with just Laketec employees helping local families get through the holiday season with groceries and gifts for the kids.  Over time, Joe expanded the program by partnering with the local Marines in conjunction with their Toys-for-Tots initiative.  With this partnership in place, we began to focus on local veteran families.  This new focus naturally leads to teaming up with the VA in an effort to identify the families in need.  Unfortunately, there is no shortage of opportunity to help. Taking the chance to give back to families of those who have selflessly served our country has become a foundational part of what it means to work at Laketec.

Participating in the Adopt-a-Family program gives us an opportunity to do something bigger than ourselves.  Every year we feel fortunate to put smiles on the faces of these deserving families.  However, through the smiles and tears, we leave wishing we could do more.  In our everyday commitments here at Laketec, we recognize the amazing partnerships we have with our customers.

One of Laketec’s core values is having a “Together We Can Do Anything Attitude” and we recognize that together with our team and network of clients we can help more families get the holiday experience they deserve.  This year we are reaching out to our customers to ask you to join us in the Adopt-a-Veteran Family program.  There are many ways you can help support this initiative, so if you are interested in helping by adopting a family please contact Joe Little at jlittle@laketec.com.  We hope to see this program grow and continue to bring the holiday spirit to more families who deserve it.

Together We Can Do Anything

One of Laketec’s core values is a “Together We Can Do Anything” attitude.  Being involved with a program like Adopt-A-Veteran Family requires a lot of teamwork and this is exactly what Laketec does best.  Laketec employees and even their families empowers the Adopt-A-Veteran Family initiative by working together as a team to achieve a goal bigger than themselves.  By getting every employee and family members involved spreads a message of teamwork and generosity among the organization.  Giving back to families of those who have selflessly served our country directly correlates with our core value of “Together We Can Do Anything” making it a pillar to what it means to be part of the Laketec team.
